Corpus Browse

In this page, you will find the videos in our corpus organized by course type. For more detailed descriptions of the teaching contexts, see the description below each course type. Within each, you will find the course name, the date on which the video was recorded, and individual video files. Depending on the length of the class session, the videos are divided into a number of segments.
All participants represented in the transcripts signed a consent form allowing us to use the audio and video data for research and professional development purposes. If any person did not provide consent, his/her utterances in the transcript are represented as “www↘”. Videos are transcribed using CLAN conventions, and tagged by the CRELLT research team.

Oral Assessments

These videos are recordings of an in-house oral proficiency assessment. The assessment is composed of four tasks: a conversation about university and professional life, and three role plays designed to simulate academic contexts. Two cameras were used to capture both the test taker and the two test raters. To access the data, you will need IRB approval from your home institution. If you have questions, you can email us at ceapp@psu.edu.
